Music for healing
‘My final piece is titled ‘Man with a guitar’. The medium used is oil on canvas and the size of the canvas is 15 inch by 22 inches.
While some say music is a therapy, some believe that music is the strongest form of magic, and this painting – ‘Man with a guitar’ is exactly what it’s about. It brings together some graffiti in this piece wherein the underlying message is all about a man playing a guitar in the days of the pandemic where all of us are stuck in our respective homes and have a lot of time to spend time on what we like playing, for example, an instrument (here, guitar). It showcases how isolation helps in self-discovery and healing oneself. With regards to how it relates to Abena and Toni’s work, we all have in our respective work demonstrated different ideologies around the same topic.’
Devising and Collaboration
‘Given the theme, my initial ideas revolved around the current pandemic situation where all of us worldwide are stuck within our respective homes. Some of us, far away from our families, lead to depression. We developed new negative and positive ideologies and discovered the passion long lost in between our daily work lives.
Working with the other artists was an amazing experience! We connected over a video call to discuss our respective ideas wherein we finally came to a conclusion that isolation has affected everyone positively in terms of self-discovery.’

More from Isha
Ever since I was 3 years old, I have been fond of throwing colours on a canvas – intercepting an art form of myself. Today, over 20 years later – I have found myself specialising in different forms of art – ranging from various oil painting techniques like knife and finger techniques to fluid art forms. With an attempt to share my passion, I also hold online fluid art workshops PAN India. In the process of wanting to pursue designing as a career to doodling in between work meetings, my bond with art only grew stronger. Apart from being an artpreneur, I am also a dance choreographer and social entrepreneur along with pursuing a career in Finance – combining various art skills not only on canvases, but in life.
